Hikes at Torrent
Do you like to do sport and at the same time enjoy the calm in the middle of the mountains of the Torrent-region? Welcome to cable car valley terminal in Leukerbad (1411m) or Flaschen (1540m) and also to cable car intermediate terminal at Torrentalp (1928m) and to cable car mountain terminal Rinderhütte (2350m).
The mountain terminal Rinderhütte with the panoramic restaurant is not only the starting point for many hikes in the Torrent-region, but also a wonderful viewing point over the Walliser Alps till valley of Rhone.

Hikes suggestions in the Torrent-region - Torrentalp – Rinderhütte
A steep serpentine goes from the cable car intermediate terminal to mountain terminal Rinderhütte. The hike is recommendable in both directions. Time: about 1 ¼ hours - Torrentalp – Planedri – Flaschen
From the cable car intermediate terminal via Planedri to valley terminal of gondola. Further bus service to Leukerbad or Albinen. The hike is recommendable in both directions. Time: about ¾ hours - Torrentalp – Bovieri – Albinen
From the cable car intermediate terminal via Bovieri to Albinen. The hike is recommendable in both directions. Time: about 2 hours - Torrentalp – Rinderhütte – Wyss lake – Chermignon – Torrentalp
From the cable car intermediate terminal goes a forest path till Rinderhütte. Further below the Schafsberg light increased till Schnydi and then down to the Wyss lake. After then downhill via Galm – Oberu – Chermignon/ Tschärmilonga back to the Torrentalp. Time: about 4 hours - Rinderhütte – Torrentalp – Flaschen
Easy descent from the cable car mountain terminal Rinderhütte via intermediate terminal to the valley terminal of gondola. Further to Leukerbad or Albinen bus service. Time: about 2 hours - Rinderhütte – Torrenthorn
A marked path goes up to the Torrent hotel via Rinderhalde till Torrenthorn. Great panorama on the Berner and Walliser Alps. Time: about 2 ½ hours - Rinderhütte – Restipass – Ferden or Lauchernalp
Starting point is Rinderhütte direction Schafalpe bellow the Schafsberg, along the slope light increased till Schnydi. Further eastwards down to the Wyss lake. The pass goes up via Dorbeggen and will be steeper till Restipass that is located between Restihorn and Loicherspitza. From here great panorama on the valley of Lötsch. On the marked path down to Restialp. From here you have two possibilities: through the forest path down to Ferden or via Kummenalp and Hockenalp to Lauchernalp. From Lauchernalp take the cable car to Wiler. Further with the bus. Time: about 6 hours - Rinderhütte – Torrentalp – Wolfstritt – Leukerbad
From the cable car mountain station Rinderhütte southwards to the intermediate station of the gondola. Further northwards fairly evenly to the Wolfstritt. After the steep forest path follow the path to Leukerbad. Time: about 2 ½ hours - Rinderhütte – Tunnel – Folljeret – Leukerbad
This path goes in direction to the ski-lift Rinderhalde and through the tunnel down to the Folljeret Alp. From here further to Leukerbad. Time: about 2 hours - Rinderhütte – Flüealp – Flüe-chapel – Clabinualp – Leukerbad
This path is recommendable only for hiker with a good head for heights and with good footwear. Follow the path Rinderhütte – Torrenthorn till Rinderhalde, here indicates the signpost the direction to Flüealp. From here further to the forest chapel of Flüe and bellow the Plattenhörner via Clabinualp to Leukerbad. Time: about 4 ½ hours
